It was also a great chance to catch up with friends and show off my new Christmas prize ;)
Then we headed to the Science Museum to meet up with Stephanie, Gabriel, and Joseph. Since Stephanie has gone back to work, we've all missed our weekly trips, so we decided to try a Saturday...and it was fun!
The funniest part of the day was when we were going to the outside section to see the animals and the volunteer at the door saw us struggling with a stroller, a snuggli, and a toddler, and started to get the door for us but then stopped. He said he had hurt his back and couldn't do it. No problem, we get it ourselves all the time.
We got outside and I jokingly said that we probably looked like we were "together" and were the parents of three brown children...funny until we were headed inside and low and behold as we approached the door, there he was HOLDING THE DOOR FOR ANOTHER FAMILY! I guess he really didn't like our "family." Oh well. I can get mad or just laugh, so we just went on with our day.
Here's "Perfect In Every Way"
Stephanie and clanWell, the wallabee exhibit is one you can actually go in, so it didn't seem that far-fetched that they'd bring one in on a leash or something. When we got there, I asked about Wally and the volunteer out front said he was just roaming around the building - we'd just have to look for him. If he got hot he might be outside. I asked if he was roaming around alone or if he had a chaperone and she said he was chaperoned.
Well......my questions sounded pretty lame when a 6-foot guy in a brown furry suit came walking in to the playroom! Needless to say, the stuffed version didn't go over too well with our group and after that Gabriel didn't even want to see the real things anymore! Thus, the impromptu photo shoot (pics above) because Steph figured she'd have a hard time explaining the furry guy in her Christmas card pictures...
